Located on the shores of Lake Rotorua in New Zealand's geothermal heartland, Polynesian Spa is one of the country's most iconic geothermal bathing destinations.
For generations, people have come to these waters seeking rest, relaxation and the benefits of natural mineral bathing. The site traces its bathing heritage back to the 1800s, when Rotorua became known for its geothermal springs and wellness traditions.
Today, Polynesian Spa features 28 geothermal mineral pools supplied by two natural springs unique to the property. The sulphur rich acidic Priest Spring is renowned for helping soothe tired muscles and joints, while the alkaline Rachel Spring is known for leaving skin feeling soft and nourished.
Set alongside Sulphur Bay on Lake Rotorua, many of the pools offer views across the geothermal landscape, where rising steam, native birdlife and the lake's ever-changing moods create a uniquely Rotorua experience. Guests can choose from a range of bathing experiences, including adult-only pools, family-friendly pools and private bathing.
Beyond the pools, Polynesian Spa offers a selection of spa therapies inspired by the region's geothermal heritage.
